Growing up on the east coast, Coach Mark was a stand-out 3 sport athlete at Deerfield Academy and a member of the US national field hockey under-18 team and under 21 team. She was recruited to play at the University of Virginia where, as a member of the field hockey and lacrosse teams, she competed in 3 NCAA Final Four tournaments and earned All-Academic and All South Regional status. After graduating from college, Mark began her coaching career at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville NJ coaching the field hockey and lacrosse teams in 2000-2001. Mark moved to the Twin Cities in 2004 and became a part of The Blake School coaching staff in 2006. Since taking over the Blake program in 2007, she has compiled a two year record of 31-3 including a state runner-up title in 2007 and 2009 and the state championship in 2008. 

Coach Mark currently resides in Edina with her husband, a MN native, and her two young sons.

Maria L. Slusser

A  scholarship Division 1 athlete, Coach Maria Slusser began playing lacrosse in the Philadelphia area in 7th grade.  She was elected Team Captain and Most Valuable Player for both her high school team in Radnor, PA as well as her college team at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.   She was a varsity starter for 8 years (Radnor and JMU).  A defensive midfielder, Coach Maria was elected to the prestigious intercollegiate All-State  ( Virginia) and All-South Lacrosse Teams throughout her college career.  She is currently involved with the sport both locally and nationally serving on the US Lacrosse Youth Rules Committee and has been a youth girls coach in Princeton area, NJ and more recently in Minnesota.  


Maria Slusser lives with her husband Greg, in Shorewood with their three children who also enjoy the sport of lacrosse.
